Born in 1963 in Adıyaman, Abdurrahman Bilgiç is a distinguished Turkish diplomat with a career spanning over three decades. After graduating from Kadıköy Anadolu High School in 1981, he went on to complete his studies at Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Sciences in 1985. Bilgiç began his diplomatic career at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986.
Between 2003 and 2005, he served as the Director-General of Press and Information at the Prime Ministry, and from 2005 to 2007, he held the position of Consul General in Munich. In 2011, Bilgiç was appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to Tokyo, where he served until September 30, 2011. Following his ambassadorial role, he became the Deputy Undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), a position he held until 2014. From July 8, 2014, to September 27, 2018, Bilgiç represented Turkey as its Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
After retiring from diplomatic service, Mr. Bilgiç founded ABM International Consultancy, with offices in London and Ankara, providing expertise in areas such as Climate Change Solutions, Sustainability Consulting, Finance and Risk Management, International Trade Advisory, and Corporate Strategy and Infrastructure. His experience and leadership continue to guide organizations towards sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
